Jesper de Jong also won his second match in the qualifying tournament and thus qualified for the main draw of the Croatia Open, which starts tomorrow in Umag. His placement is at the expense of the Chilean Tomas Barrios Vera, who went down 6-2 and 6-4 against the Dutch tennis violence of De Jong. We also meet the Argentinian Facundo Bagnis in the main tournament, but his placement was not without a struggle. Kazakh Timofey Skatov won the first set 7-5, but after the deafening roar of the Argentinian after this lost set, Bagnis managed to put things right. Apparently such a roar can relieve. In any case, the second and third set went 6-4 and 6-2 to Bagnis, who couldn’t believe his luck, threw his racket in the air and let himself fall flat on the court. Filip Misolic did not turn it into such a circus, but he did win. The flamboyant Damir Dzumhur from Bosnia and Herzegovina was the victim of the Austrian, much to the delight of, among others, the Austrian (holiday) public, who, like the other interested parties, had free access to the qualifying matches. If there was a circus during this competition, it was because of Dzumhur’s performance. He could not understand that the referee did not see that a ball was out, which led to a long emotional look at ‘the crime scene’ by the referee and the Bosnian. In the end it didn’t help him as the match ended 6-4 6-3 in favor of the Austrian. The last game that was played was between the Italian Flavio Cobolli and the Czech Zdenke Kolar. The Italian had the better of the game and took the win 6-4, 6-2.
