Slovenia is only a few kilometers away from Umag in Croatia. When the Slovenian Aljaz Bedene comes on the court, this is clearly noticeable. It turns out that many of his compatriots are sitting in the stands. Incidentally, Italy is not far away either and that is also apparent from the Italian encouragement from the public. So no dull moments when Lorenzo Musetti and Alja Bedene compete in the first round match at the Croatia Open. But despite the passionate encouragement to Bedene, Musetti manages to live up to his status as a promising talent. Although he loses the second set with 3-6, the first set and the third set are won with convincing numbers by the Italian: 6-2 and 6-1. In the second round, Musetti now meets a compatriot: Marco Cecchinato.
