The French Mathilde Johansson, born in Götenborg (Sweden), but a resident of France, is the number 171 of the world. She had to play against the Italian Natassja Burnett, who is ranked much lower on place number 331. Still, it was the Italian lady from Rome who won the match. Earlier this day Mandy Minella from Luxembourg, seeded as number 7 in qualifying, had to leave the tournament (due to an injury). With the loss of Mathilde also the number 8 seeded player is out of the qualifying competition. On sunday Nastassja will face the Slovak Daniela Hantuchova. Although certainly a talent, the Polish youngster Maja Chwalinska (14 years old) was not really a problem for the veteran from Slovakia.
