The Brazilian Andre Sa and Maximo Gonzalez from Argentina are doubles specialist from neighbouring countries. They play together and were not seeded at the Croatia Open 2015 in Umag. Coming form neighboring countries and being not seeded, from time to time seems to be a fruitful combination on the road to success. In Katowice earlier this year the Dutch Demi Schuurs and the Belgium Ysaline Bonaventure were not seeded and the won the title. The same goes for Sa and Gonzalez, they also cruised through the tournament to end as the winners of the doubles title In Umag. On their route to the title they defeated in the first match the number two seeded Dominic Inglot and Philipp Petzschner in strait sets (6-4, 6-4). The experienced Julian Knowle and Philipp Oswald couldn’t stop them either, although this was a very close match (7-6 (6), 4-6, 10-7. A super tiebreak was also decisive against Lukas Rosol and Rameez Junaid (6-4, 3-6, 11-9). As a result they had to fight the number 3 seeded Mariusz Fyrstenberg from Poland and the Mexican Santiago Gonzalez in the final. They started with one set down (3-6), but their fighting spirit made them come back in the match and after a 6-4 win they once again had to play a super tiebreak. And for the third time in a row they managed to win: 10-5. As you can see on the pictures this gave not only the players themselves an enormous joy but also their family who accompanied them in Umag.
